Every day, the Huallaga River carries organic and inorganic waste from upstream cities such as Huánuco and Pasco. Our Reservoir Maintenance team is responsible for removing, segregating, and recycling these large amounts of trash. Since 2015, more than 14 tons of recyclable plastic, 50 non-recyclable, and 03 of hazardous waste have been extracted. This activity has a positive impact on the quality of life of the inhabitants of our direct area of influence (ADI) because they move in a clean water mirror, which means a healthy and safe environment.
The Chaglla Hydroelectric Plant generates clean energy with the intention of preserving the environment. That is why environmental monitoring is scheduled every 3 months to evaluate the conditions of the water, soil, noise and radiation. Activity that is always carried out with the accompaniment of the members of the Monitoring and Care Committee, who are representatives of the communities that are located within the area of direct influence.
We visit the schools that are located within the areas of influence (ADI) of the Chaglla Hydroelectric Plant. We also visited the two transmission lines in order to sensitize children on the importance of environmental protection, reduction in plastic consumption and waste segregation. In addition, we plant trees from the area with them.
